Simon Greiner Program Returns for Spring 2019 Track Season
It may not feel like it lately but Spring is nearly here! With that comes the beginning of some of C4K's most popular sports seasons. Every day our Locker Room is full of athletes getting ready for softball, baseball, soccer, track and more. As a result, C4K's Simon Greiner Track & Field Program is also now back in full swing!
The Simon Greiner Program is a collaborative partnership with Fields & Futures, The Greiner Family and Red Coyote Running and Fitness that gives kids opportunities to participate in cross country and running by providing new trainers and spikes to athletes in OKCPS.
In February, staff from C4K and Red Coyote Running and Fitness made a visit to all four of our Simon Greiner Partner Schools: John Marshall High School, Harding Charter Prep, Northwest Classen High School and US Grant High School. It was a great way to get the teams pumped for a great season of track.
Jon and Burke Beck of Red Coyote were on hand with to give each athlete a personal fitting session to make sure to order their perfect size in trainers and spikes. The kids loved chatting with them about the events they plan to participate in this season and learn how best to tie a runner's knot.
Another huge thank you to Fields & Futures, Don & Shellie Greiner, Red Coyote Running & Fitness and New Balance Running for their dedication to reigniting the passion for track and field in OKCPS!
Stay tuned to see photos from the distribution of these shoes - coming VERY soon!
