Help Us Load the Locker Room!
Announcing our new “Load the Locker Room” initiative to help with increased demand for sporting shoes, equipment and apparel! We've served nearly 150,000 kids from over 300 school districts across Oklahoma since our founding, but the work is not over yet! With the advent of the pandemic and inflation, C4K staff have noticed a marked uptick in visits to the Locker Room, sometimes impacting over 100 kids in a single day.
“We’ve taken special care in designing a space that is accessible, compassionate and kid-forward,” C4K Executive Director Stacy McDaniel explained. “Our Locker Room serves as ground zero for the work of our mission and we are currently looking at more empty shelves than normal!”
C4K’s new “Load the Locker Room” initiative refers to a community-wide effort to gather new and lightly used sports shoes, equipment and apparel of all sizes and types. Many of the organization’s partners have chosen to lend a hand, including Club Pilates on May Avenue, Orange Theory in Nichols Hills Plaza, The Jones Assembly and the Paseo Arts Association.
“Load the Locker Room” culminates at the Lower Park Opening for Scissortail Park on September 23rd – September 25th. Attendees at Lower Park Opening in Downtown OKC can find donation boxes at 4 locations throughout the sports fields and pavilions opening that weekend.
Here's how to get involved in LOAD THE LOCKER ROOM 2022:

2. Gather your own used sports shoes and equipment and drop them off at a drop-off location (find a list of them here).
3. Bring your gear with you to Lower Scissortail Park opening 9/23-9/25 and look for C4K's 4 donation boxes that will be located throughout the space.
