C4K Celebrates the End of Third Annual Bedlam Drive with OU & OSU!

In the state of Oklahoma, football is a pretty big deal. Throughout the Fall, thousands of fans tune in to every single game and travel thousands of miles to see the Cowboys or the Sooners hit the field. Even though this Bedlam rivalry runs deep, C4K’s annual Bedlam Drive proves what we can accomplish when we come together! Fans from both sides can agree that sports can have a huge effect on the life of a child.

This year’s drive, C4K’s third, gave athletes and students from OU and OSU a chance to help us equip and empower kids through sports! Collection boxes were set up across both campuses for most of October with each university rallying their students with posters and word of mouth. After all was said and done, both universities were able to collect nearly 2,500 pieces of equipment that will be put into the C4K Locker Room and then into the hands of kids.

To celebrate the amazing work these students did for young athletes, C4K invited them to join us and our friends from Fields & Futures at their Field Opening Celebration at Star Spencer High School on October 22, 2017!

Excitement was running high that afternoon as the athletes and students arrived from OU and OSU carrying boxes of shoes, balls, bats, and workout clothing. Members of both schools' spirit squads were also in attendance and the Star Spencer students enjoyed playing games like cornhole and soccer with them! Even OU Mascot Boomer was there! The newly renovated sports complex at Star Spencer High School was the perfect location for the event and the staff of C4K was honored to help our dear friends from Fields & Futures celebrate. The field dedication that happened later in the afternoon was an amazing tribute to the Star Spencer community and we can't wait to see athletes hit the new field!
